Help open Constantia Green Belts to Cyclists

The City of Cape Town have opened the public participation process for Constantia Greenbelts cycling trail! This proposal will see the opening of trails through the Constantia Valley green belts to cyclists – a big win for commuter cyclists and off-road cyclists.

We need your help to ensure that this proposal goes through. For the month of October, you are able submit your comments to city. Even if you are in agreement with the proposed project, it is important that you submit a comment. The City will consider all comments, negative, positive or neutral. They all count!

The Pedal Power Association is behind the proposal will sign an MOU with City Parks, should the proposal be accepted.

Draft Constantia green belts cycling proposal

The City of Cape Town invites comments from interested and affected parties on the proposal
to open certain green belts in the Constantia Valley to off-road cyclists.

In terms of Section 17 of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, Council
must afford the public and interested parties or groups an opportunity to submit comments to the municipality for 30 days.

The comment period takes place from 1 to 30 October 2015.
