Imagine a bicycle that is lightweight and strong – a bicycle made mostly out of recycled cardboard, plastic and car tires- a bicycle that only costs $9 to make!
The team at Cardboard Technologies set out to show the world that nothing is impossible. They see a future where transportation is much more eco-friendly and where more people have access to it.
The cardboard bike is the first of its kind, made of recycled cardboard along with melted recycled plastic and car tires. Despite being primarily made of cardboard, the bicycle is durable, fire and water resistant, and can support up to 300 pounds. Created by Izhar Gafni the bicycle costs around $9-$12 to make, with the estimated cost to the consumers bing around $60-$90 depending on what parts they choose to add on.
